Pet Pride Day is a free, family-friendly event that celebrates pets of all species. Activities will include a Halloween costume contest, working animal demonstrations, Pet Trick contest, and the Bay Area’s best pet services and products, and animal rescue groups
Pet Pride Day will take place at Sharon Meadow, Golden Gate Park in San Francisco on October 25, 2015 from 11 am-3 pm.
All proceeds from the event will go directly to fund critical programs, which include:
- A Behavior & Training Program that evaluates dogs and cats, and teaches volunteers how to socialize them, optimizing their chance for adoption. Trainers also consult with adopters to help ensure a successful adoption.
- Free Microchipping and Low-cost Rabies Vaccination Clinics held four times a year at ACC for dogs and cats of San Francisco residents and low-cost chips for nonresidents.
- An Emergency Medical Fund that pays for specialized medical care beyond what the shelter vets can provide for stray, abused, injured, and neglected animals that come into the shelter.
- Enrichments like special kitten formula, dog and cat toys, music in the kennels to lower stress, orthopedic dog beds, and other enrichments for the animals.
